Giving a dated 1970s home a second life.
When our clients purchased this McKinney home as their family’s primary residence, the kitchen and bathrooms were ready for a full reset. The spaces were outdated, inefficient, and disconnected from the warm, easy, welcoming home they wanted to create.
With complete trust from the clients, we led the design and construction management for a full kitchen renovation, primary bathroom renovation, and shared kids’ bathroom renovation. Every layout change, material selection, fixture, finish, and detail was chosen to bring the home forward while giving it the kind of character that feels collected over time.
The kitchen was fully reconfigured to improve flow, storage, and everyday function. Warm cream cabinetry, a contrasting island, brass hardware, zellige-style tile, wood shelving, and cane counter stools created a classic foundation with just enough texture to keep it from feeling too polished. In the primary bathroom, the new arched shower, freestanding tub, wood vanities, and soft paneling created a retreat that feels calm but memorable. And in the shared kids’ bathroom, green striped wallpaper and a wavy wood mirror brought in the right amount of playfulness while still working for both a boy and a girl.
The result is a home that feels warm, current, and truly livable — a true revival of spaces that were ready to become something more.
